Today in the halls of Russia Academy of Fine Arts opens an exhibition of works of Pyotr Ivanovich Kotov, timed to 120 anniversary of the birth of the artist

Today, October 1, 2009, at 17.00 in the halls of Russia Academy of Fine Arts (Prechistenka, 21) opens an exhibition of works member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, Honored Art Worker of the RSFSR, USSR State Prize winner Peter Ivanovich Kotov (1889-1953). It is timed to the 120-th anniversary of the artist. On display are paintings, created in 1913-1953, respectively, as well as photos, documents.

PI Kotov was born in 1889 in Astrakhan province. Studied at the Kazan Art School at N. Feshin , in 1916 he graduated from High Art School of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, studied at FA Roubaud , NS Samokisha , J. F. Tsionglinskogo . The knowledge gained from his famous teacher, our own rich creative experiences throughout his life he passed on to younger generations.
