Today, 23 September, the State Tretyakov Gallery on the Crimean shaft (Halls 13-14) opens an exhibition of photographs Vladimir Sychev « Reportage. Russia 1970 ". It is part of the third Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art.

His apartment was one of the few places in Moscow, where he regularly held exhibitions of works of art, for one reason or another are not included in official Soviet life. Thanks to Vladimir Sychev, many artists from the province were able to engage in this "semi-closed" exhibition process.

In late 1970, Vladimir Sychev emigrated from the Soviet Union in France. He was the first Soviet photographer who managed to bring to the West its archive. Springboard its rapid ascent was a series of reportage photos showing the daily lives of people of the Soviet era 1970's. Some of these photos was included in this exhibition.

He has a large collection of works of art, and a large photo archive of artistic life, which until now has not been fully represented on any of the exhibition. There was no special edition of his photographs, though many of them were in the book "The Other Art. Moscow 1956-1988 ", NCCA, 2005 (photo documentation Bulldozer Exhibition). So the current exhibition can be called the first, fully representing the photographer in Moscow.
