Today, in the halls of the Mikhailovsky (Engineers') Castle Russian museum opens exhibition «Ivan Prokofiev. 1758-1828 », devoted to 250 anniversary of the master. The exposition will be represented by 13 sculptures and 64 drawings from the collection of Russian Museum and State Museum «Peterhof».

In the history of Russian artistic culture of the name Ivan Prokofiev is on a par with the names of his famous contemporaries, and fellow art - F. Shubin , M. Kozlovsky , F. Shchedrin, I. Martos .

Art Prokofiev, and creativity of its outstanding contemporaries, belonged «Golden Age» of Russian sculpture.
