Fovisty and expressionist in the Van Gogh Museum
Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam is now hosting the works of German expressionists and French fovistov from the collection of the Amsterdam museum Stedeliyk
Portfolio fovistov French and German expressionists from the collection of the Amsterdam museum Stedeliyk can now be seen in the Van Gogh Museum. The choice of these two groups to the exhibition is not accidental, because their representatives owe works great Dutch master. The exhibition includes 14 paintings, including masterpieces such as «Naked girl (Frentsi)» Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (Ernst Ludwig Kirchner), a portrait of Willem Vauera made Oskar Kokoschka (Oscar Kokoschka), and «Blue Horse» brush Franz Marc (Franz Marc).
After the Second World War in a museum Stedeliyk was deposited on the set of Van Gogh, previously owned by family members of the artist. There they remained until the opening of the Van Gogh Museum in 1973. Willem Sandberg (Willem Sandberg), which at that time held the post of Director Stedeliyk and curator Hans Jaffe (Hans Jaffe), inspired by the works of great masters, have decided to show its influence on contemporary art. Thanks to them and created a collection of works fovistov and expressionists, who first exhibited together with works by Van Gogh, an incentive for its creation.
Basically Stedeliyk purchased for the collection of the authors, part of the Dresden group «bridge» Munich and the association «Blue Horseman». All of them were under the influence of Van Gogh: his reflections on the role of the artist, the purity of its colors and overall expressive works. Complement the collection and works of French fovistov, which inspired the vivid colors and intense, pastoznaya style of writing characteristic of the work of Dutch painter.
The exhibition in the museum you can see Stedeliyk expressionist paintings Alexei von Yavlenskogo , who never met Van Gogh, but believed it to your teacher. In 1908 he even bought his wife's brother, the artist Johannes van Gogh-Bonger (Jo van Gogh-Bonger) picture «father Pilon House» (1890) and later she wrote: «For many years, I was eager to become the owner of the painting, written by his hand ». The influence of the great master is especially apparent in the written Yavlenskim landscape of 1914, which can be compared to Van Gogh's painting «Blooming garden, view of Arles» (1889).
Stedeliyk exhibit in the museum also includes works by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, who admired the bright colors Van Gogh. His canvas «Three naked in the forest» (1908) has a surprising resemblance to the picture «Three roots and trunks» (1890), written in Dutch. Both of these works are presented at the exhibition.
Users will be able to see works by Maurice de fovista Vlaminka (Maurice de Vlaminck) - a self-taught artist, who over expressive and spontaneous style of Van Gogh's letters. For example, the technique of large, abundant smear applied artist in the film «Wheat field» (1888), Vlamink used in his work «Landscape near Chateau» (1906).
