History of Art: from impressionism to abstract art
Austrian museum Albertina (Vienna) is coming to an end exhibition «From Monet to Picasso», which gives a full picture of one of the most interesting periods in the history of art - the transition from figurative to abstract art. Nearly 250 works - paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures - will plunge into the most important, one might say revolutionary stylistic era in the last 100 years - the era of impressionism and modernism.
in the Albertina exhibition brings together works from two private collections Forberg (Forberg) and Batlayner (Batliner), as well as from our own collection of the museum.
The starting point was the work of French Impressionists, including outstanding works by the late Claude Monet and Edgar Degas, and Post-Impressionist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Paul Cézanne.

A separate chapter, which is of great importance in this history is devoted to Russian avant-garde, which in the exhibition represent El Lisitsky and Kazimir Malevich .
