Artists Makovsky of State Russian Museum
Today, the Corps Benoit State Russian Museum opens exhibition «Artists Makovsky».
The objective of the exhibition - to provide creative family Makovsky 11 representatives, among whom were artists, restorers, teachers, critics, art historians, have made a greater or lesser extent to the development of Russian culture XIX - mid XX century. Among the most famous painters - Constantine Constantine and , less well known - Nicholas , Alexander Alexander , Luksha-Makowska .
The exhibition features paintings, drawings, engravings, photographs of family members Makovsky and book critic Sergei Makovsky. Viewers will see historic pictures, portraits, works of genre painting, still life, battle paintings, book graphics. A number of works will be shown for the first time.
The exhibition will bring together works from the Russian Museum, the Museum of AX, GMZ «Tsarskoe Selo», GMZ «Peterhof», the Museum of Political History (St. Petersburg), State Tretyakov Gallery, the Historical Museum (Moscow), Novgorod historical and artistic and Architectural Museum-Reserve and private collections in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
