Today at the State Tretyakov Gallery opens exhibition «Icon Romanov dynasty era», in which the icons from the collection of Victor Bondarenko. This exhibition is a new attempt to understand the development of Russian icon painting for three years of the last Russian dynasty - the House of Romanov. The project, bringing together an exhibition in the Tretyakov Gallery and the publication of a monograph on the iconography of New Time, enter in the register of national cultural heritage of over two hundred previously unknown works of Russian religious art.

Project «Icon era of the Romanov dynasty» brings to the art of vivid and controversial period in Russian history and culture, which lasted from the end of XVII century and the beginning of XX century. The audience represented the result of many years of work collecting famous Moscow collector Viktor Bondarenko. The significance of the collection gathered by them is that it formed at the highest level, consists of pieces of museum quality and is open for research.

So far, at various exhibitions «Romanovsky» period in the history of Russian icon painting shown fragmentarily.
