Major retrospective of the work Vasily Vasily Kandinsky opens on 25 October in Munich gallery Lenbachhaus, reports AFP. After the Munich exhibition will go to the Center Pompidou in Paris, and then - in the Guggenheim Museum in New York.

American, German and French galleries, the largest collections of paintings by Kandinsky, the first time combine their collections for the total exposure. The public will showcase 95 paintings by the artist, written from 1907 to 1942 and reflecting all the main periods of his creativity.

German exhibit closes Feb. 22, 2009. In Paris, Kandinsky will be displayed from April to August next year, while in New York - from September 2009 to January 2010.

Kandinsky was born in 1866 in Moscow, but after the law faculty of the University has decided to associate with the art of life and moved to Munich, where he studied painting. In Germany, he created the well-known association of artists, expressionists «Blue Horseman».

From the beginning of the First World Kandinsky returned to Moscow, where it has found the same revolution. In 1921, Kandinsky moved to Germany at home and never returned. He has received German citizenship and taught at the famous art school «Bauhaus», but in 1933, after coming to power, the Nazis moved into France.

The artist died in Paris in 1944.

Director of the Center Pompidou Alfred Pakman said that the largest collection of works of art by Kandinsky recently appeared in the museum by the will of the artist's widow, Nina Kandinsky, who died in 1981 in Switzerland.

The core of the collection galleries Lenbachhaus amount of work, the museum presented another woman - artist Gabriel Myunter with which Kandinsky was a hoop from 1903 to 1916.
