In the Tretyakov Gallery opened an exhibition of Aaron Isaakovich Aprilia, artist-sixties, during the last decades of living in Israel.

Aprilia Aaron was born in Lithuania in 1932, spent childhood in the house, located near the birthplace of Isaac Levitan. In 1941, Aprilia and his family was deported from Lithuania, first in the Altai region, and then - for the Arctic Circle to settle in the village on the river Yana. School of the Future designer graduated in Yakutsk. In 1949-1951 he studied at the Moscow State Art School of memory 1905. However, in 1951, was deported a second time, and only in 1960 the artist graduated from the Moscow State Art Institute. VI Surikov.

He is actively and regularly participated in the Moscow, republican and all-Union exhibitions since 1958. It is important for the creative and personal journey of self Aprilia was in India and the Middle East.

In 1972, the artist has decided to emigrate to Israel. Settled in Jerusalem, he taught painting, drawing and composition at the Universities of Haifa and Jerusalem, has held solo exhibitions in Israel, Germany, France, Switzerland, Canada, the United States and Russia. In 2005, Aprilia, Aaron was elected an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts.

The exhibition presents about 100 works made over the past three decades, mostly on biblical themes. Expressive and energetic works of this period - the result of comprehension of the Israeli world. In watercolor painting and the artist creates a special mythological space in which the characters are in one piece with svetovozdushnoy environment.
