May 22, in the Stroganov Palace opened an exhibition of Alexander Bogomazova. The exhibition presents some 30 paintings and about 40 - Graphic of the Russian museum and private collections in Moscow, Kiev, London, New York.

Nick Alexander Bogomazova, which at one time called «Ukrainian Picasso», «Shardenov Futurism», long remained in the shadow of the first figures of the Russian avant-garde. After a long neglect Bogomazova first exhibition was held in 1966 in Kiev, the national house of literature. The last decades of creative writing Bogomazova Ukrainian scholars - Edward Dymshits, Dmitry Gorbachev, Elena Koshuba. Since 1980 individual artist's paintings are exhibited at numerous exhibitions devoted to Russian art 1910-20-ies, and in 1991 in Toulouse (France) took his personal exhibition.

The current exhibition at the Russian Museum for the first time introduces the viewer with the work of masters. Like many eminent contemporaries on the avant-garde art, Alexander Bogomazov have different talents, his character tried to cover all areas of creativity and talent has helped to achieve significant results. Experimenter in the art, a brilliant teacher, a major theorist, who pondered the essence of painting and its impact on the audience, amateur music, great puzzle her, the poet ... the artist has gone through all the typical flow for that time: realism, impressionism, a little longer stay in the symbolism. In 1913-1914 the artist vision has changed dramatically blown up style of his works. Manifested exacerbation of the susceptibility masters forced to see the agility of even the static objects. Now the task of the artist Bogomazov see adequate playing impressions of the turbulent life of a fixed fight and tension in the transfer of rhythm, tempo, dynamics. In 1914 Bogomazov finished their work on the main theoretical difficulty «Paintings and Elements».

Alexander Bogomazov born March 14, 1880 in the village Yampil Kharkov province. In 1902, entered the Kiev Art School, where he met with A. Exter, A. Arkhipenko and A. Lentulov. In 1908 A. Bogomazov, together with D. Burlyuk, N. Kulbinym, N. Goncharova, M. Larionov, A. Lentulov and V. Baranov-Rossini, participated in the landmark exhibition «Link». In 1914, the artist organized exhibition «Ring», whose task was the protection of New Art. At this exhibition, he showed 88 of its paintings and graphics.

Since 1919, A. Bogomazov actively engaged in advocacy, mass art, social work and teaching: the congress of artists-teachers, he was elected head of the department of art education in the Ukrainian Committee of Fine Arts, attended the presentation of the city to the Revolutionary holidays such as the «Day of the Red Army», «1-May», «Day of the Child». In addition, he became secretary of the union of artists of Kiev. In 1920, together with A. Exter, W. Möller, J. Rabinowitz, A. Tyshlerom Bogomazov appointed artist 12 th Army to design agitpoezda number 1 and agitparohoda «Pushkin».

In 1926 the artist became a member of ARHU (Association of Revolutionary Artists of Ukraine). Easel painting moved to second place, and when in the late 1920's introduced its new wonderful paintings, the artist's figurative language has already been quite different. Theoretical study of color have led the artist to translate the so-called stretch-colored polychrome conventions and color relationships.

In 1922 Bogomazov became professor of easel painting Kiev Art Institute, where, at the same time worked V. Palma, V. Tatlin, Vladimir Golubyatnikov, M. Boychuk, L. Kramarenko. In 1928-1930 years in the same institute taught K. Malevich.

Alexander Bogomazov lived short lives, but has had much to do. He was an outstanding and unique personality, a deep and serious about their intended use, attempted dokopatsya to the depth of knowledge of life and art. Exhibition at the Russian Museum provides an opportunity to familiarize with the main legacy of the artist and to write another forgotten name in the history of art of the twentieth century.
