In the halls of the State Tretyakov Gallery Graphic exhibition continues on the 125-th anniversary of Anatolii Vasil'evich Bakushinskii (1883-1939).

AV Bakushinskii was art historian, teacher, employee Tsvetaevskoy first, then the Tretyakov Gallery (1924-1939). It is no accident that takes place in the exhibition halls of graphs: namely Bakushinskii founded the graphics department at the Tretyakov Gallery. Unfortunately, after the death of academic department was closed, but after several years of re-opened and today has a large collection of Russian graphic art.

In 1925, opened the exposition «Russian academic figure XVIII - first half of the XIX century. By the 200 th anniversary of the Academy of Sciences », which exhibited the work of F. Bruni, C. Brullov, A. Egorov, F. Matveyeva, I. Bardoux, G. Schmidt, O. Kiprensky.

Research interests Bakushinskii not limited to the works of old masters. He worked on building a collection of contemporary graphic artists. In 1927, the exhibition «Russian figure for 10 years, the October Revolution», there were works by L. Bruni, P. Mituricha, N. Kupreyanova, V. Lebedev, V. Чекрыгина. In 1920 this exhibition was a real innovation, and now these works have become an integral part of the graphic collection of the Tretyakov Gallery.

Bakushinskii studied art V. Polenov, I. Repin, V. Surikov, V. Serov, M. Vrubel; fragments of his research, as well as the work of these artists are represented in the exhibition galleries.
