By the early nineteenth century is a rare full-scale sheet E. M. The portrait depicts Vasily Tarnowski, the eldest son of a famous collector and patron of art Vasyl Tarnovsky-младшего in their estate Kachanivka near Chernigov. In 1880 Ilya Efimovich stayed there while working on the painting "the Cossacks writing letter to Turkish Sultan". The richest collection of Ukrainian antiquities Tarnovsky was the artist for the creation of "Cossacks". In addition to sketching items from the collection, Repin created a gallery of paintings and graphic portraits of the inhabitants of the manor. Shown in figure Bob Tarnowski ("vasiuk," as he was called home) later became an Opera singer and performed under the pseudonym of Snowballs.

Another interesting lot relevant to I. E. Repin, — album of his students from the Studio of Princess M. Tenisheva, presented to A. V. Prakhov. March 26, 1898, Professor A. V. Prakhov finished reading another series of popular lectures on art history. In the end, "the audience covered the final words of his teacher, friendly and lengthy applause. When the applause died down, students of the Academy presented to Professor Prakhov luxurious album of his sketches and read him a very heartfelt dedication" (the Academy of fine arts / St. Petersburg paper. 1898. No. 84. P. 3). The album contains paintings and graphic sketches of Y. I. Repin, K. A. Vasileva, E. E. Lessner, J. A. Chuhrova, L. P., Albrecht, A. V. Sapozhnikov, A. A. lyubyts'ke, G. G. Karpunina, I. M. Trapeznikova, A. N. Tretyakov, E. A. graves and others.

A. Golovin — artist, whose works are not so often met at auctions. "Cabinet" is up for auction large "Male portrait in costume of the Renaissance".
