He worked on miniatures as well as over large canvases, as evidenced by the presence of the preparatory drawing. On the back indicates the place and year of creation of the work: "Livadia 18(9)9". In the diaries of Emperor Nicholas II survived the memories of meeting Aivazovsky who visited the Imperial residence in Livadia.
