Written in 1924, when the artist lived in India, painting "White and sky" is a Prime example of the series "His country", dedicated to the Himalayan landscapes. For Roerich India was not just a point on the map travel. Here began a new phase in his life. On the canvas with the bird's eye view shown covered by a cap of snow mountain peaks and white clouds. This is the place where the land merges with the heavens, the place of transition from one state to another, undoubtedly had an important symbolic meaning for the artist. This space, devoid of plot and specificity, allowing the Roerich focus on the play of light and texture depicted, making the picture almost into abstraction. It should be noted that all the works from the series "His country" are in museums, so the auctioned painting — this is a unique opportunity to purchase work from this Serie@
the Picture under the title "Brigade of Geser-Хана" dated 1931 year and belongs, therefore, to yet another fruitful period of creativity of the artist, when he again returned to his estate in Indian Kullu valley after one and a half years spent in new-Йорке and Europe, where he was engaged in the promotion of International Peace Treaty aiming at the protection of cultural heritage. The picture is dedicated to the mythical figure Geser-Хана, widely venerated throughout Central Asia. Story cycles about the exploits of a hut appeared in the North of Tibet, approximately in the XII century. Roerich first learned about Geser during his expedition. In his view, this image has become synonymous with the celebration of good over evil, and the Geser — the great Saviour along with Maitreya, on whose shoulders are pinned the hopes of humanity for a new era of truth, beauty and justice. Shown in the picture the action takes place against the magnificent backdrop of mountain scenery. The multilevel structure of the song gives it depth and dynamism, making the viewer feel like you're part of the descent into the valley. Warm rays of light falling on the backs of soldiers, contrast in color with the dark outlines of the mountains. Roerich managed to capture the atmosphere of calm before the battle, while the viewer does not remain the slightest doubt as to who will win pobedu@
