Russian auction Sotheby's - in April

auction house Sotheby's announces Russian auction to be held April 22, 2010 in New York.

At the spring auction Russian art is a collection of paintings Ukrainian masters of the Society of Independent Artists. All the pieces of the auction to occur from the collection of Jacob Abramovich Change (1881-1960), patron and public figure who actively supported the young artists and regularly buy their work at exhibitions. Ruth and her brother, Charles Henry Ford, the publisher and the Surrealist poet, belonged to a luxury apartment in the house "Dakota" near Central Park in New York, where he often met artists, writers, musicians, among them were Leonard Bernstein, William Faulkner, Andy Warhol. Henry and Paul have a close partnership, after his death his legacy passed to Charles and Ruth Ford. They are actively engaged in promoting the collection, showed paintings at the exhibitions, as well as greatly enlarged it.

Sotheby's will feature about 70 works Chelishchev at auction of Russian art, as well as impressionist and modernist art in New York and Paris in 2010. Chelishchev painting "Man with a tattoo" in 1934 will be put up for auction of Russian art in April 2010, estimate 250-350 thousand dollars.

The April auction will also be exhibited unique bowl of lapis lazuli Company Carl Fabergé (estimate 50-70 thousand dollars). This is one of the best collection of works by Francis G. Jones. The cup was made in 1913 in St. Petersburg workshop of Henry Vigstrema. Jones Collection includes about 40 works by Faberge firm, acquired in 1960-70-ies, the best of which come from the collection Lendsdella K. Christie.
