Tonight, February 11 in London will auction Christie's "Postwar and contemporary art". The upcoming auction will bring together works by some of the most talented and significant artists of the last 60 years, among which we can distinguish a group of works created in the early 1960-х, brush Yves Klein, Frank Auerbach, Piero Manzoni, Peter Doig, Martin Kippenberger, raghib Shaw and Antonio Lopez Garcia. the"Golden sponge RE47II" — one of two similar paintings from the series "jaws-рельефов", extant. Made in 1961, when the first man went into space, shimmering masterpiece reflects the great interest of the author to the space age. Along with the "Golden sponge RE47II" at the auction will be offered the most ambitious work is "ANT 5" in the unique series "Anthropometry", created with the use of fire. This series is famous because the artist created them with prints of women's bodies on the canvas. Both a vivid portrait characterize the incredible skill of paints, which is the hallmark of the work of Auerbach, with lots of details and unrestrained brush strokes with an almost sculptural quality. In the upcoming auction will be exhibited two works by famous German artist. On the left we see a famous-portrait, and on the right — outstanding work of the five parts of the "Flying tango", which was purchased from the artist by the current owner in 1984. One of the five parts of this work depicts a Chinese boy holding a can of "Coca-Колы", — image, which became widely known after it was used on the cover of the single, Faster group Manic Street Preacher.
