Recently upgraded our rating of Russian artists

It was a place new records Kandinsky and Rodchenko

For a few hundred thousand has grown record Wassily Kandinsky. At the auction of impressionist and modern Christie's on 16 November 2016 canvas "Rigid and flexible" (Rigide et courbe) in 1935, displayed with an estimate of $18-25 million, was sold for $of 23.32 million with the auction house Commission. Prior to this record for Kandinsky was $23,04 million for a sketch of "Improvisation № 8" in 1909. Place in the rating, by the way, Kandinsky preserved all the same — fourth. Read more here.

Already on Russian auction at Sotheby's on 29 November 2016 picture "Design No. 95" (1919) brush Alexander Rodchenko was sold for £3.65 million ($4,52 million) including Commission. Estimate for the lot was £2.5–3.5 million (us$3.1–4.3 million). This level Rodchenko (painting, big format) to the auction still was not present, so the record was quite expected.
