Stolen Egyptian artefacts return to their original place
Head of the Department of Antiquities of Egypt, Zahi Hawass announced that the fragments of walls with murals, which the Louvre sent home, will be returned from whence they were stolen
Head of the Department of Antiquities Zahi Hawass, Egypt (Zahi Hawass) said that fragments of walls with murals, which caused disagreement between Egypt and the Louvre in Paris, will be returned to their original place. According to him, these ancient artifacts will be restored by specialists, and then placed in a tomb near Luxor temple, where they were stolen.
In October this year, Hawass announced the severance of relations with the Louvre, from the fact that he refused to return the pieces were illegally exported from Egypt . But soon Ministry of Culture of France, with the approval of a special commission, which oversees the national museum collections of France, agreed to transmit these artifacts home . Just recently, during a visit to France, President Hosni Mubarak (Hosni Mubarak) personally inspected the fragments with paintings, after which they were sent to Cairo.
