Auction house «Sovkom», to attract customers, will introduce its first auction of contemporary Russian art tonight lots from 20 per cent discount, told RIA Novosti in an interview with the owner of «Sovkoma» Yuri Tyuhtin.

«In contemporary art there is a strong demand, and« Sovkom »decided to hold the first auction of contemporary art. To attract buyers, we have deliberately reduced the estimeyty 20 per cent », - he said.

Tyuhtin explained that the auction price policy has not yet finished: «We are ready to reduce the starts of many of the additional 20 per cent, and expect that half the works will be sold».

In total, the auction, which according to its organizers, is «the broadest possible range of contemporary works of art», offered 130 lots. Auction starts with a late representative of the Constructivist Basil Ermilova ( «Still Life» praised for 120-150 rubles), thus emphasizing the continuity of the modern domestic art of the first Russian avant-garde.

«Among the top lots were a great work of 1971 Mikhail Mikhailovich Shemyakin « Carcase »(estimeyt 1.4 million rubles). This is a very good picture, which comes from the private collections of St. Petersburg.
