Art Market in 2011: the results in figures
Clearinghouse artprice on Monday published its final annual report on the state of the art market in 2011. The first preliminary results were announced, the auction artprice back in January (see here ). At the same time became known a dozen lots, the most successful (read here ). In addition, already announced the names of three artists with the biggest annual auction turnover of money (read here ) and some other statistics (see here ). artprice Report 2011 analyzes the results of the auction of 6.3 million transactions in 4500 auction houses around the world, yet focuses on the successful conquest of China, the world art market. Auction sales of the art market of the country grew by 49%compared to 2010. In the Middle Kingdom registered the largest number of lots sold more than $ 1 million - 744 (seven-digit results, the U.S. was 426, while in the UK - 377).
