All these enthusiastic words of brilliant art — about the Italian artist Giovanni Battista (Giambattista/Giambattista) Tiepolo (Giovanni Battista (Giambattista) Tiepolo) — wizard who worked in the eighteenth century, popular in the nineteenth century and, unfortunately, not too known to the General public today.

On early life Tiepolo is known not much. He was born 5 Mar 1696 in aristocratic Venetian family, and was baptized in the Cathedral. Apparently, interest in art, he began to show at an early age: the archival record of his first teacher, artist Lazzarini Gregorio (Gregorio Lazzarini; 1657-1730), refers to the year 1710, when Giovanni was just 14 years old. Probably close to academic and late Baroque (with dark backgrounds and snatched from the dark figures in heroic poses) painting Lazarine not quite meet the young artist of my own art, and soon he left the workshop of his teacher, fascinated by the works of Giovanni Battista Piazzetta (Giovanni Battista Piazzetta, 1683 (1682)-1754) and Federico of Benkovich (Federiko Benković; 1667-1753), nicknamed the Dalmatian, which was known for its much more easy and dynamic manner.
