June-2018 in London. How true, our auction predictions
Just the "Russian week" of June 2018 by the leading London auction houses sold about $21 500 000. For understanding: it is 2.5 times more than sales of all auctions of paintings and graphics in Russia in 2017
Is selected for forecast two dozen lots we overestimated Aivazovsky, Krasnopevtsev, Zvereva and Ernst Neizvestny. Bought them cheaper than we expected. However, not much. More often our estimates were understated. Russian lots (though select — that matter) for the most part left more of our "average" expectations. Usually not much, but sometimes hard.
the biggest puncture this time — Alexander Yakovlev: sanguine meter seventy-four in height. It seemed that in the assessment from $540,000 chances of him not. All-таки we are talking about large paper, doomed to the special rules of care and exposure under glass. But then kaboom — half a million dollars! Twice wildest expectations "Christie". This is not predicted.

In General, prices were higher "dealer". No stock for resale. What can it mean? Most likely, the paintings and drawings of people bought for themselves, on the wall, for fun and not for speculation. So there are still connoisseurs. Given the foreign policy complications and correction of the prices for Russian art, I thought the results would be much worse. However in a good way to be wrong is always nice.
