From the Greek family. Graduated from Odessa drawing school (1877), studied at the Imperial Academy of arts (1878-1889 he), in the landscape class at М. К. Клодта and В. Д. Орловского. During the years of study received all existing academic awards: in 1884-1886 —, five small and two large silver medals, in 1887 — a small gold medal for the painting "View outside the window in one of the oldest parks in St.-Петербурга", 1888 — a gold medal for the program "Landscape. (Forest swamp)". In 1889 he received the title of class artist 1-й extent with the right of a pensioner's travel abroad. A student approached С. И. Васильковским, Н. С. Самокишем, К. Я. Крыжицким. In the summer months they travelled together with them on studies to Ukraine.

In 1890-1893 — pensioner of the iakh; visited France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland.

he Lived in St. Petersburg from 1893 — in Kharkiv and the estate of Mala Danylivka (Small Danilka). He painted landscapes; worked a lot in watercolors. The author works: "In the Auvergne" (1891), "Flax in bloom" (1893), "the County town. Uman" (1895), "Landscape with Church" (1897), "the Village Gay" (1901), "In the RAID. Venice" (1903), "The Alley. The old house" (1911), "June" (1913) and others. Participated in the design of interiors Kharkov literary-художественного club (start 1900-х) and the house of Poltava Zemstvo (1907).

From 1890 — participated in exhibitions. He showed his works at exhibitions of the Association: the Association of South Russian artists (1893-1894) in Odessa St-Петербургское society of artists (1894-1903), the Society of Russian watercolors (1894-1898, 1900-1905, 1907, 1910, 1914), the Association of artists (1905, 1912, 1916, 1917) in St. Petersburg (Petrograd), the Association of Kharkov artists (1914) in Kharkov. Participated in academic exhibitions (1890-1894 Benois, with breaks) in St. Petersburg, Russia industrial and agricultural exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod (1896), the world exhibition in Paris (1900). Held a personal exhibition in Kharkiv (1906).

he Taught at the Kharkiv city school of drawing and painting (1904). The Director of the Kharkov art school (from 1912).
