Graphic artist, painter, set designer.

born in the family decorator Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. He was engaged in drawing and painting in a private studio VE Savinskoye, workshop PP Chistyakov in Tsarskoe Selo. In 1918-1920 worked as an instructor of art studio for the workers, while he taught math to seamen of the Baltic Fleet.

Since 1918 he has participated in exhibitions. He was a member of the World of Art "," Community of Artists, the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia. In the 1920's worked a lot of satirical graphics, collaborated with the magazines "Siskin", "hedgehog", "Behemoth", "laughers", "Crocodile". Created cycles easel graphics "Nepmen" (1928-1932), "West" (1932-1934), "Naked Artist's Model" (1930).

From 1929 he taught at the graphic department of the Leningrad VHUTEINa (Institute of proletarian art, the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Architecture and Sculpture, Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Repin).

In 1930 he worked in the children's department of the State Publishing House. A series of illustrations for the works of "Eugene Onegin" by Alexander Pushkin (1934), "Nana" E. Zola (1935-1937), "Dear Friend" by G. de Maupassant (1935-1937), "Nutcracker" E.-T.-A. Hoffmann (1937), "Anna Karenina" (1942-1945) and "War and Peace" (1941-1948) Leo Tolstoy, "The Auditor "Nikolai Gogol (1948)," Manon Lescaut "A.-F. Prevost (1948) and many others.

In 1938-1940 he worked in the Experimental lithographic workshop LOSSH. In the 1940's appealed to the theatrical-decorative art, has created costumes for productions of "Woe from Wit" Sir.doc in Leningrad Academic Drama Theater. Alexander Pushkin (1940-1941), The Wedding Anton Chekhov (1942) and "Much Ado About Nothing" William Shakespeare (1943, not implemented) for the Leningrad Variety Theater.

Rudakov - an outstanding representative of the so-called Leningrad school schedules associated with the names of VM Konashevych, NA Stipa, NF Lapshin. His personal style is often described as "picturesque graphics" or "graphic art". Perfectly owning many techniques (watercolor, pastels, gouache, lithography, etching, drypoint, monotype), he preferred the colorful: watercolor and colored lithographs.
