born in the family of Lieutenant-General Chief of Staff N. Gorsky. He graduated from high school in Yaroslavl. Studied at MUZHVZ (1872-1876) at ES and P. Sorokin, IM Pryanishnikova, Vasily Perov. In 1876, received a small silver medal for the sketch. In the same year, after graduating, moved to St. Petersburg, where he enrolled in full-scale class IAH.
