Painter, graphic artist

brother of the scientist-economist Alexander Rybnikova. He studied at the Kharkov school of painting and drawing (he graduated in 1909), then in Moscow under Mikhail Larionov (1910).

lived in Moscow. He painted landscapes, still lifes, portraits. In the late 1900's - 1910-x series of sketches performed on biblical themes. Engaged book graphic, illustrated works of AV Chayanov, Alexander Pushkin, Nekrasov, Saltykov-Shchedrin, A. Blok and others; completed projects exlibris. Participated in a scientific expedition Lena (1933).

exhibited works at exhibitions of paintings society "Fire-color" (1924, 1925), AHRR (1925) in Moscow, the international exhibition "The Art Book" in Leipzig (1927) and others. Held solo exhibitions in Moscow (1918, 1933).

worked as a restorer. Organized restoration workshops at the State Tretyakov Gallery, for over 30 years was their leader, during the Great Patriotic War, was preparing the evacuation of museum collections in Perm and Novosibirsk.

taught at the Moscow State Art Institute. VISurikova; taught courses in engineering and technology of painting at the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute. Lenin. Author of books: "The texture of the classic painting" (Moscow, 1927), "oil painting" (Moscow, 1937), article "The main provisions of the diagnosis of disease pictures" (1930, together with SA Toropov).
