elder brother of the painter SS Egornova. He was educated at Moscow Evangelical School of St. Peter and Paul. In 1883 he moved to St. Petersburg, where he enrolled at IAH (1883-1888) was engaged in a class of landscape painting in MK Klodt. During the period of study took all existing academic awards: in 1884 - small and large silver medals in 1885 - a small silver medal in 1886 - a large silver medal and a certificate of completion of the course of Science, in 1887 - a small gold medal for painting "Watermill," in 1888 - a gold medal for the program "The Oaks", was released with the title of class artist 1-th degree and the right to a pensioner's trip abroad for a period of three years.

In 1889-1891 - retired IAH in France, Italy and England. After his return he lived in St. Petersburg. Many traveled to Russia, has repeatedly been in the Crimea. In 1893, for the painting "Before the Storm" and "Normandy Beach" was awarded the title of academician. Participated in academic exhibitions (1887-1902, with interruptions). Member of the Society of Russian and exponential watercolors, in 1897-1902 - Chairman of the Society.

In 1904, in St. Petersburg held a posthumous exhibition of the artist.

Egornova works are in many museum collections, among them - the State Russian Museum, State Tretyakov Gallery, State Vladimir-Suzdal historic-architectural and art museum-reserve, Novgorod State United Museum-Reserve, Odessa Art museum and others.
