In 1906-1914 работал artist-исполнителем at the Bolshoi theatre; on sketches К. А. Коровина served as the scenery for the ballet "don-Кихот" Л. Минкуса (1906) and other productions. Collaborated in 2-й Studio of the Moscow art theatre, for which he designed the performances of "Elizabeth" Д. П. Смолина (1925) and "the people" on the novel А. М. Горького (1933); at the Bolshoi theatre: "John Soldier" К. А. Корчмарева (1927, together with Д. Н. Чечулиным), "Mazeppa" П. И. Чайковского (1934); at the Opera house. К. С. Станиславского "Boris Godunov" М. П. Мусоргского (1929), "the Golden Cockerel" Н. А. Римского-Корсакова (1932, together with Н. С. Изнар), "Chapaev" Б. А. Мокроусова (1940, the film was not produced).

In 1924-1940 — artist of the Maly theater. He created sketches of costumes and scenery for the performances: "Ivan Trump and Tatiana Russian" Д. П. Смолина (1925), "to the Left" В. Н. Билль-Белоцерковского (1926), "Leolam" В. М. Чуркина (1930), "Not a penny, but suddenly Altyn" (1930), "On the busiest place" А. Н. Островского, the "Third speed" Ф. Я. Финна and Н. О. Волконского (1931), "Glass of water" Э. Скриба (1940; the costumes).

at the same time engaged in easel painting and graphics; in 1900-1930-е executed portraits of artists С. А. Евсеева (1909), М. А. Кичигина (1913), actors Е. К. Катульской (1917), А. Ф. Рудакова (1924), writer Г. Флобера (1939); painting "the Circus" (1916), "Fritz and Brasso" (1916), "Harlequinade" (1918), "the Circus. Cheerful music" (1922), "Before the mirror" (1924), series "Landscapes of Samarkand" (1942); has created a number of still lifes. Worked on the poster: "long live the third Communist international!" (1920), "long live the holiday of workers of all countries" (1921).

From 1909 — participant of exhibitions (the Moscow school of painting, student). Exhibited at the exhibitions of Moscow Association of artists (1916, 1917, 1918, 1922, 1924), of the society "Makovets" (1926), 2-й the exhibition charts (Association of artists-графиков at the printing House, 1927), exhibitions of "10 лет work of the Maly theatre. 1917-1927" (1927), "Moscow theatres October decades. 1917-1927" (1928), "Outcomes of theatre season 1928/1929 годов" (1929), "Artists of the RSFSR for XV years" (1933-1934), "Artists of the Soviet theatre for 17 лет. 1917-1934" (1935) and others.

Work is represented in many Museum collections, including the State Central theater Museum im. А. А. Бахрушина and others.
