military doctor, chief physician of the General Staff of the Russian army (since 1903), assistant professor of the Military Medical Academy (since 1907), the actual state councilor (since 1915).

Organized exhibition "The Impressionists" (1909), "Triangle" (1910). Participated in the exhibition association "Jack of Diamonds" (1912). Held a solo exhibition in St. Petersburg (1912).

One of the founders of the artistic cabaret "Stray Dog" (1911) created a sketch for the curtain Cabaret (1912). He was the initiator of the invitation to the St. Petersburg leader of the Italian Futurists F.-T. Marinetti (1914). Author of treatises "free creativity" (1909), "Free Music" (1910), the anthology "Studio Impressionists" (1910).

In 1918 in Petrograd, was arranged a memorial exhibition Kulbin. A retrospective exhibition of the artist was held in St. Petersburg (2008).

Kulbin works are in many museum collections, including the Pushkin Museum in them. Pushkin Museum in St. Petersburg avant-garde (at the Museum of the History of St. Petersburg) and others.
