From a merchant family. He graduated from St.-Петербургское commercial College (1893). He studied at the Higher art Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture (1897-1899, 1901-1908) at the sculpture Department at В. А. Беклемишева and Г. Р. Залемана. Graduated with the title artist received for his sculpture "Dog".

Lived in St. Petersburg (Petrograd). Served as the medal designer at Saint-Петербургском mint, in a direction in which 1909-1911 стажировался in Paris. Worked in the St. Petersburg office of the firm К. Фаберже; played miniature models of monuments to the Imperial Easter egg "Peter the Great" ("the bronze horseman") and "the Monument to Alexander III". In 1914 he retired from the St. Petersburg mint and entered the service in private firm engraver А. Жакара; created designs of coins dedicated to the First world war, — "Russian soldiers", "Sister of mercy". In 1915-1916 completed a wax model for a series of allegorical stone figures А. К. Денисова-Уральского "Warring States".

Participated in the Spring exhibitions in the halls of the Imperial Academy of arts (until 1918) in 1917 — chaired the Committee of the Spring exhibition. Member of-учредитель of the Petrograd Union of sculptors-художников. A member and Exhibitor 1-й exhibitions Community of artists (1917). In 1912 he received the prize of the society for the encouragement of arts. the Emperor Nicholas II.

he Taught the class of embossing at the Drawing school of the Society for the encouragement of arts. In April 1919, after the death Г. Р. Залемана was elected head of sculpture at the Petrograd state free art educational workshops.

From 1921 lived in Riga; worked as an artist at the Riga factory М. С. Кузнецова.

Work is represented in several Museum collections, including the State Russian Museum, Science-исследовательском Museum of the Russian Academy of arts.
