Painter, draftsman

From a merchant family. Studied physics-математическом faculty of Moscow University (1860-1862, not graduated); in 1862 he received the title of a home teacher. In parallel attended drawing classes at the Moscow school of painting (1860-1862). Studied in MUZHVZ (1862-1869) К. С. Сорокина. In 1866, for the painting "the chess Game (From the life of John the terrible)" received a small silver for the painting "Chimney sweep" — a large silver medal and the title of class artist of 3-й degree. In 1869 enrolled student of the Imperial Academy of arts with the right to compete in the small or large gold medal. In 1872, for the painting "In the workshop of the shoemaker" was awarded the title of class artist 1-й degree.

he Lived in Moscow. Worked as a genre painter. Author paintings: "Order received" (1894), "the Cantonist" (1892) and others. The works were reproduced on postcards.

From 1867 — participant of exhibitions (MUZHVZ). Exhibited in the halls of the Imperial Academy of arts (1869, 1872). Member of the Moscow society of art lovers (since 1893).

Work is represented in several Museum collections, among them — of the State Tretyakov gallery, State Russian Museum, the Kharkiv art Museum, Donets regional art Museum.
