In early 1910-s took private lessons with DA Shcherbinovskaya. From 1912 he studied at the Stroganov School of Industrial Art in northeastern Noakovskogo, then MUZhViZ, from which he graduated in 1917. In 1918-1919 attended the State Free Art Studios in Moscow, was engaged in "Class 19", which, in addition Komardenkova studied NF Denisovsky, S. Kostin, K. Medunetsky, Stenberg brothers, and others. In 1925 participated in the International Exhibition of art and decorative arts in Paris. In 1926-1928 he worked on theater productions revolutionary satire.

In 1927 he created the costumes and scenery for the play "Midsummer Night's Dream" on the play by William Shakespeare at the State Drama Theater. Ivan Franko in Kiev, which he considered his most successful work in the theater. In 1929, exhibited his works at the first theatrical decorative exhibition in Moscow. In 1937 participated in the World Exhibition in Paris, where he was awarded the silver medal.

From 1946 he taught at the Moscow Higher School of Industrial Art (former Stroganov), since 1971 Professor of Painting.

In the 1940 - 1970 worked mainly easel painting.

In 1987, Moscow hosted a retrospective exhibition of works by the artist.

Komardenkov - one of the leading masters of the second wave of Russian avant-garde 1920. In his works, has experienced a number of influences, drawing inspiration from the works of artists in different fields - from FF to Fedorovsky AV Lentulova, by Rabinovich to S. ; Yu Sudeikina from Tatlin to Yakulov.

the master's works are in several museum and private collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, State Russian Museum, Moscow Museum of Modern Art and others.
