From the family of the worker. He graduated from elementary city school in Kiev (1909). In 1911-1915 worked as an assistant in publishing houses "South cents" and "Kiev thought", in 1916-1918 — assistant mechanic, then a mechanic at the Kyiv main railway workshops.

In 1935 together with his wife received from the Commissariat a business trip to pioneer camp "Artek" in Crimea.

From 1930 he worked as an artist books in the state publishing house, the publishing house "Young Guard". Completed the design of books: "the Battleship of the Revolution" О. Жемчужина "wandering Ship", "Oh-Хо" И. В. Карнауховой (1931).

In 1941 as a poster artist collaborated in the Windows of TASS. The participant of the great Patriotic war; died at the front.

From 1919 — participant of exhibitions (paintings by artists-служащих management South-западных Railways in Kiev). Member of-учредитель society (1928-1929), a member of the group "13" (1929-1930), mossh (SSH, 1932). Exhibited: 1-й traveling exhibition of paintings and drawings (1929), "Artists of the RSFSR for XV years" (1933), "Moscow in painting and graphics" (1936) in Moscow, 2-й traveling exhibition in cities of the RSFSR (1930). Participant of several exhibitions of Soviet art abroad, including in the USA (1929, traveling), Winterthur (1929), Vienna, Berlin, Danzig (all — 1930), England (1930, mobile); the international exhibition "Art of book" in Paris and Lyon (1931-1932). Had a solo exhibition at the Club. Aviahim in Moscow (1934).

he Taught at the Yaroslavl art-педагогическом College (1928-1929).

Work is represented in many Museum collections, including the State Tretyakov gallery, the Pushkin Museum im. А. С. Пушкина State Russian Museum and others.
