the exhibition will feature about 30 works of the artist from the collection of the founder of the gallery "vellum" Lubov Agafonova and collection of Mikhail Alshibaya and Sergei Alexandrov. Entrance to the exhibition is free.

dramatic portraits, of the famous Yakovlevskoe flowers — that comes to mind immediately when talking about the works of Vladimir Yakovlev, the artist who, taking their own tragic fate and confronting her, able to realize his talent. Still there were landscapes and still lifes, Yakovlevskoe cats and fish that are already in the early 1960-х years began to take their places on the walls of apartments of the Soviet collectors. The artist worked, overcoming progressive blindness, and mental illness, but a unique gift Vladimir Yakovlev has won recognition during the life of the master; circle of connoisseurs and buyers of his works was formed rather quickly.

the Artist, whose works have become a real symbol of the Soviet "other art", was born in 1934 in Gorky region; in 1944, the Yakovlev family moved to Moscow. In 1950-е years, Vladimir Yakovlev worked as a courier, then as a Retoucher, photographer and photo library custodian in the publishing house "Art", studied in the Studio of the artist Vasily Sitnikov, parallel to independently studying the history of art in the library of the publishing house.

the First official exhibition of Yakovlev in the Soviet Union (one-day exhibition in cooperation with Eduard Steinberg) was organized in 1963 at the Museum of F. M. Dostoevsky. In the mid 1970-х the artist joined the city Committee of graphic artists and had the opportunity to exhibit in the hall at the little Georgia. Then, in 1970, the artist's work was presented at the exhibition "Russian avant-garde in today's Moscow" in the Gallery of Gmurzynska (Cologne) and in 1976 his solo exhibition was held in Copenhagen.

In 1990-1991, the artist's works were shown in the exhibition "the Other art. Moscow 1956-1976", organized by the Tretyakov gallery and the Russian Museum, and that Yakovlevskaya a flower was placed on the cover of the second volume of the edition dedicated to this exhibition project (the first volume was selected a painting by Oscar Rabin).

In 1995 he held his first personal exhibition in the Tretyakov gallery in Moscow.

Most of his works Vladimir Yakovlev has created, working with gouache on paper, cardboard or hardboard. The researchers note in his work the period of lyrical abstraction, close to the works. Pollock, talking about the works created under the influence of Picasso, appreciate things, in which are reflected the return of Yakovlev from the abstraction to the subject of painting. Portraits (including the series "Portrait of the Wind"), still lifes and iconic "flowers" full of hidden drama and energy of resistance, they felt the tragedy and painful loneliness of the artist.
