The Jewish Museum holds "the game with the masterpieces"

The exhibition "masterpieces: from Henri Matisse to Marina Abramovic", will feature masterpieces of modernism and contemporary art — works of K. Malevich, and F. bacon, R. Lichtenstein, V. Pivovarova, N. Goncharova, A. Giacometti, A. Kiefer, N. Pirosmani etc.

the Jewish Museum and tolerance center presents the exhibition "masterpieces: from Henri Matisse to Marina Abramovic". The exhibition will show masterpieces of modern and contemporary art — from cubism to the art. The core of the exhibition will be works of foreign and domestic artists: Kazimir Malevich and Francis bacon, Roy Lichtenstein and Victor Pivovarova, Natalia Goncharova and Marina Abramovic, Alberto Giacometti and Bridget Riley, Anselm Kiefer and Niko Pirosmani.

"masterpieces" — is primarily a family project. Built as an attraction where to discover the works need to climb the ladder, ducking, sliding, or look in the cupboard, it will give children and adults the opportunity to see the work of iconic artists outside of schools and concepts. The exhibition will include selected works of XX and XXI century: Malevich's works ("Three figures in a field"), bacon ("sketch of the head of George Dyer"), Liechtenstein ("Portrait"), Yakovlev ("the Cat that caught the bird"), Pivovarova ("Pasha", "Vike"), Goncharova ("bathers"), Kiefer ("the Adalbert Stifter"), as well as Kandinsky, Pirosmani, Abramovic, Picasso, Matisse and other famous artists. All the audience will see more than 30 works in various genres: from painting and photography to installations and experimental animation.

Adults often feel so lost in modern art exhibitions because they don't know names and I suspect that we need some-то special knowledge to understand it all. Children are confident and completely that all this was not invented for them — least because the paintings are hung too high. The exhibition "masterpieces" of work often at the level of children's eyes, and the exhibits and explanations help children to get rid of the stereotype of the Museum as what-то boring and imposed on adults. Adults can look at contemporary art without the fear of it not to understand.
