This and more than 70 works, including works by N. Roerich, B. Kustodiev, A. Benois, M. Vrubel, show at the Ekaterinburg Museum of fine arts the exhibition "the owner of the "red horse". Gift Kazimiera, Bacevich museums in Russia"

This unique exhibition dedicated to the history of the famous Leningrad collection Kazimiera Konstantinovna, Bacevich (1898-1973), presents paintings, drawings, sculptures, and selected exhibits of decorative-прикладного art from the collections of Tretyakov State gallery, Ekaterinburg fine arts Museum and Irkutsk regional art Museum im. V. P. Sukachev. The exhibition will be a tribute and respect to the selfless men and real patriots — three generations of the family Basevich-Лотаревых through which the museums of Russia has been enriched with wonderful works of Russian art.

the reason for the organization of the exhibition in the walls of the Museum of Yekaterinburg was carried out in 2017 Dar's great-niece, K. K., Bacevich, Professor of the Ural architectural-художественной Academy Rani Mikhailovna Lotareva (1932-2018). 17 works of Russian artists was donated it to the State Tretyakov gallery: "In the country. Okhotino" (1914) by K. A. Korovin, "Beginning of winter" (1900-е — 1910-е) S. Y. Zhukovsky, "Before the home altar" (1900-е) S. V. Bakalovich, "portrait of a ballerina Lidia Ivanova" (1922) Z. E. Serebryakova and others. In the Yekaterinburg Museum of fine arts R. M. lotareva, historian gave the 38 paintings and drawings, among them works by K. S. Petrov-Водкина "Trinity" (1915-1916) and "Carthage" (1907), a wonderful miniature by B. M. Kustodiev "Province" (1910) and pastels Z. E. Serebryakova "portrait of the daughter of Katya" (1922). It was also given to 4 sculptures and more than 200 decorative-прикладного art.

Casimir K., Basevich, née Romanov, began systematically to complete his collection in 1945. The basis of the collection made up of works by Russian artists of XIX–XX centuries A. N. Benois, L. S. Bakst, K. Korovin, N. K. Roerich, M. V. Dobuzhinsky, Mikhail Vrubel, Konstantin Somov, Z. E. Serebryakova, M. V. yakunchikova, V. E. Borisov-Мусатова, B. M. Kustodiev, S. Yu. Zhukovsky and others. But the biggest luck was the acquaintance with the widow of the collector K. S. Petrov-Водкина Maria Feodorovna, who introduced her to Paul Kuznetsov, Elena Bebutova, Martiros Saryan. Purchased the works of these artists were the glory of the collection, Basevich.

"bathing of red horse" — masterpiece Kuzma Sergeevich Petrov-Водкина (1878-1939) — has long been outside of Russia, and dropped out of sight art. The painting was created in 1912, and in 1914-м, among others, sent by the author at the "Baltic exhibition" in the city of malmö (Sweden). Only in 1950, thanks to the efforts of the widow Petrova-Водкина, "bathing of red horse" was able to return home. In 1953 Maria Feodorovna yielded a picture in the collection of K. K. Basevich, then bought "Portrait of M. F. Petrova-Водкиной" (1913) and the landscape of "the don" (1912), whichalso presented at the exhibition in Ekaterinburg Museum of fine arts. I must say that Kazimiera Konstantinovna had a special relationship to the work of Petrova-Водкина that was alive and exciting the soul. More surprising to others was her decision in 1961 to transfer ten paintings (including "bathing the red horse") the State Tretyakov gallery. This priceless gift was appreciated not only by management and staff, and General public.

K. K. Basevich bequeathed to the Tretyakov gallery more than twenty works, however, did not want to part with them in life. And, according to her will, in 1973, the niece and heiress of the collector, a resident of Sverdlovsk Galina Innokentievna lotareva, historian gave the gallery seven of the bequeathed works, and the last part of the bounty — seventeen works — have implemented in 2017, Rena M. lotareva, historian.

in 1970, Casimir K. gave three works of the Irkutsk regional art Museum in honor of the 50-летия from the day of its Foundation, because with this Siberian city in the life of the Romanov family-Басевич was much associated.

In his handwritten book Rena M. lotareva, historian, all the last years of his life dedicated to the memory of his famous grandmother, wrote: "to Gather this collection — is a huge intellectual work. Casimir K. fully lived in it — as a poet in verses and poems, the writer in his novels and works, musician in the melodies of voices and instruments. A collection of paintings —, it was her world a sense of life. Great informative world of harmony of colors, space use, diversity of psychological types of people who own their artistic methods of transfer. It includes melodies and her own life. In such a world, it was fun to live. She didn't do business on paintings. She loved them. Often gave friends. I'm always thinking of people's property. So she chose for their favorite paintings (generally-то in all her paintings were loved) the State Tretyakov Gallery".

the Ekaterinburg Museum of fine arts, Rena M. gave everything not mentioned in the will of K. K. Basevich works, but, unfortunately, passed away before seeing the exhibition, which was the dream and which did so much.
