His paintings and murals are characterized by emotional emotion, dynamic compositions and bright colors.
In the eighteenth century in Venice there is a special type of the urban landscape, called "Veduta". It originates in the works little known to our audience bows Carlevaris (1663-1730), whose compositions can be seen at the exhibition. Its true heyday of this genre have survived in the work of Antonio Canaletto (1697-1768), depicting a unique image and atmosphere of Venice, her everyday life and holidays. Unlike Canaletto, Francesco Guardi (1712-1793) saw their city differently. Not aiming for precision image, he created a poetic and picturesque imagination, arbitrarily linking the real motives and fiction. This type of landscape is called "Caprice."
life of the Venetians of the eighteenth century has depicted in his works the master of genre painting Pietro Longhi (1702-1785): sketches from the life of — secret meetings, games, fun street scenes, the depiction of everyday events — were the main topics of his works.
Craftsmen, who glorified the Venetian school, not always lived and worked in the capital: the talent, the artists often implemented in small towns. Special attention deserves Vicenza — "city of Palladio", so called in honor of the famous Italian architect Andrea Palladio. He was born in Padua, but a significant part of the architectural heritage left in Vicenza. One of the masterpieces of Palladio — Chiericati Palazzo which today houses the City Museum, Vicenza, presented the works to the exhibition in the Pushkin Museum. Of A. S. Pushkin. Viewers can also see the exposition of the work of Palazzo Leoni Montanari (Galleries of Italy) in Vicenza who are familiar with Venetian painting of the XVIII century from the collection of "Intesa Sanpaolo".

In Vicenza there and paintings by Bernardo Bellotto, nephew of Canaletto, which is rich in the collection of Moscow Museum. At the same time in Russia the works of Giambattista Piazzetta, one of the best of whose works, "the Ecstasy of St. Francis", is on display at the exhibition. Little known to the Russian viewer and the work by Pietro Longhi, painter, devoted himself to genre painting. Its a small fun pictures, filled with subtle humor, reveal the viewer the lives of an aristocratic Venetian society. The exhibition shows the work of Giambattista Tiepolo, one of the greatest masters of European painting of XVIII century, which is rightly proud of the museums of Moscow and Vicenza. Thus, the exhibition of his work appears in a wide thematic range and variety of genres, from plafond compositions of the allegorical theme of "Time revealing Truth" (Palazzo Chiericati, Vicenza) until written to churches, the altar images, and small easel paintings for private clients, among which craftsmanship is the "Death of Didon" (Pushkin Museum.
