In the Tretyakov gallery is preparing a major retrospective of Mikhail Larionov
The exhibition will show about 500 exhibits of Russian and foreign museums and private collections. Opening September 19
It Mikhail Fedorovich Larionov (1881-1964) became the first Russian artist-авангардистом, whose work was acquired by the Tretyakov gallery (in 1907). After 111 years, the gallery is preparing for a large-scale exhibition, which will present the main directions of his work, as well as a wide range of interests Larionov–collector.
Endowed with a powerful and beautiful gift of talent experimenter from the very beginning of his career, he has had a tremendous impact on the formation and development of the new art of the twentieth century. Works in the style of primitivism embodied a national version of the avant-garde. Larionov was one of the originators of the birth of abstract art. The "author" option non-objective painting was called "leucism".
a Section of the Russian period of the artist will be showcasing mostly paintings, among which a textbook famous paintings, such as "Garden" (mid 1900-х, RM), included Sergei Diaghilev for the exhibition of the famous exhibition of Russian art in 1906 in Paris; works "Soldier series" 1910-х and stored in various Russian museums, the famous "Venus" (1911-1912), first gathered together the works from the series "seasons" (1912, "Winter" and "Autumn" — of the state Tretyakov gallery, "Spring" — Pompidou Centre), and never exhibited in Russia luchitsky canvas "Nocturne" (1913-1914) from the collection of the Tate gallery and "Radiant sausage and mackerel" (1912) from Ludwig Museum.
Section of the French period of the master will include not only paintings, but also a significant body of graphic works Larionova, many of which first appear before the public. The exposition will include works 1910-20-х years associated with the "Russian ballet of Diaghilev", which Larionov worked as an artist-декоратор, the author of the libretto, consultant and choreographer.
a Special section of the exhibition dedicated to Larionov-коллекционеру. Here are presented the main areas of his collecting activities: Russian and Eastern splint, child's drawing, set of materials associated with work on a book on the history of ballet, unique photographs of Diaghilev's performances, performances of the Russian ballet in Monte-Карло. The exhibition will include works from Russian collections (the State Russian Museum, art museums of Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod,Ulyanovsk, Ufa, Krasnodar, Kazan) and foreign museums (Centre Pompidou, Ludwig Museum, Tate, Victoria and albert Museum).
