The exhibition, which opens tomorrow in the outhouse "Ruin", will tell about the history of architecture ancient East of the oasis and about the current state of the complex in Palmyra, significantly affected during the military conflict 2014-2017

the exhibition will include prints of the XVIII and XIX centuries from the collections of the architecture Museum, the State Hermitage Museum, and photographs of archaeologists of the XIX century from the collections of the Institute of history of material culture Russian Academy of Sciences. All of these materials will help to provide a way of Palmyra to the twentieth century. Modern 3D-реконструкция legendary customs Tariff, photographs and videos complement the architectural character of historic facts about the economic importance of the city. The tragic fate of the monument in the beginning of the XXI century, devoted a separate section of the exhibition, including footage of the war photographers, topographic maps, and movies illustrating a new page in the history of Palmyra — of the UNESCO monument, which today is in urgent need of conservation.

One of the objectives of the exhibition project is to attract public attention to the enormous architectural and archaeological loss in Palmyra, as well as preserving the memory of one of the largest ancient cities I—III centuries in the middle East.
