The exhibition includes over 200 works of decorative-прикладного art, drawing, painting and sculpture.
the Concept of "modern style" came into use by the middle fifties and was enshrined in the professional publications of magazine "Decorative art USSR" (published in 1957). The modern style developed simultaneously and easel art, and architecture, and in meaningful environments, in the last he manifested the most powerful. A new understanding of morphogenesis was based on the experience of the Soviet constructivism and the international style, understanding of modern technology. Today, this stage historians call the Soviet modernism.
Modern style, in contrast to Stalin's Empire, assumed availability, lack of status. Old city-forming slogan of the avant-garde "art to the masses" appeared in its more modest, domesticated form of art in every home.
the Exhibition is built on the premises of the Leningrad material.
