"Alex and Andreas Jawlensky. The adventure of colour" in the Russian Museum

Alexei von Jawlensky (1864-1941) does not need any introduction, his works decorate expositions of many museums in the world. He was a contemporary, like-minded friend Wassily Kandinsky, Gabriela Munter, Paul Klee and other famous artists of the first decades of the twentieth century. Jawlensky studied with Ilya Repin, admired the works of Valentin Serov, Konstantin Korovin and other masters of realism and impressionism.
