Russian icon painting along with other forms of art in the early XX century entered another period of its dawn, alas, is the last in the history of tsarist Russia. In the framework of the Special project 43 Antique show will showcase important works of the "silver age" of Russian icon painting from private collections. In the exhibition, in particular, will include signature works of the painters from-новаторов the beginning of the century @- Nikolay Yemelyanov, Alexei Ashurova, James Bogatenko. A special place in the framework of the special project is the works of S. I. Valkova – chief artist of the Moscow Association "P. I. Olovyanishnikov sons", specializing in the manufacturing of Church utensils. In his work the shape of ancient, early Christian and Byzantine art are combined with motifs of art Nouveau. The exhibition will feature iconic niches and salaries of icons made popular by the originals Vaskova on the olovyanishnikovs ' company in Moscow and other workshops.
