Vera L. Yasnopolskaya acquainted with the work of Artur Vladimirovich Fonvizin in 1950-е years, when a former member of the "Jack of diamonds" and the forerunner of the nonconformists was already in a difficult position. Fascinated by its graphics Yasnopolskaya learned from him to work in the technique of "wet watercolors".

Laborious and capricious technique of "wet watercolor" does not allow alterations: if after a rapid stroke, the paint has bled not, as planned, the sheet have to throw it out. "Wet watercolor" requires the artist's virtuosity in drawing, swiftness and courage. And it is believed that Faith Yasnopolskiy managed to capture a difficult Fonvizina manner.
