The exhibition of the Pushkin Museum in Venice
Within the parallel program of the Venice Biennale the Pushkin Museum. A. S. Pushkin presents the exhibition "Man as bird. Images of travel"
In the exposition of the eternal human desire to understand the world and define their place in it is reflected in the works created at the intersection of science and art.
the Exhibition brings together works by 14 Russian and foreign artists working in various media: sound and light installations, videos, photos, and objects. The exposition not only introduces the history and gives the opportunity to experience unusual visual experience, but also reflects the latest trends in contemporary art, where high technology on an equal footing with traditional media and thereby greatly expand the boundaries of artistic expression and perception.
the Completeness and realism of the sensations of time travel will complement the exhibition space itself — Palazzo Soranzo van Axel XV century. Old brick walls, arched Windows and exposed wooden beams create a special atmosphere and special cultural context for the reading of works created by contemporary artists. Some works made especially for the exhibition space of Palazzo.
the Exhibition "Man as bird. Images of travel" — is the first international project of the new activities of the Museum "Pushkin XXI", launched with the aim of creating an exhibition platform for different forms of contemporary art: from painting and sculpture to experimental film and virtual reality. "Pushkin" XXI allows to present the main stages of the history of contemporary artistic practices and carries an educational function in the area of cutting-edge language of contemporary art.

Marina Loshak: "This area of the Museum is intended to build new relationships between the classical and the new art, between the Russian and the international art world to promote dialogue of the forms of representation of contemporary art and to present to the audience of artists, who speak the language of contemporary media."
Olga Shishko: "To participate in the Venice Biennale we invited the worldwell-known Russian and international authors that extend the usual angle of human vision from 120 degrees — to 360 degrees of view birds. The aim of the project — to open the entrance to another dimension, in which it is proposed to travel to the viewer. Artists speak about the lack of physical boundaries and distances. Many of the works presented at the exhibition will be included in the collection of the Pushkin XXI".
