More than 50 works of nonconformist Edward Zelenin (1938-2002), a member of Bulldozer exhibition, until the end of April will be on show in the exhibition hall "Manege" of the Kazan Kremlin

the Works presented in the exhibition Edward Zelenin "Returning masterpieces" were created in different years and in different countries. Until 1971 the artist, known for his uncompromising attitude towards official art, worked at home, in Novokuznetsk, later — in the village of Eel Vladimir region, where he studied ancient Russian art and architecture. In 1975 Zelenin emigrated to France.

Since 1984, ceased to participate in exhibitions, not wanting to adapt to the mainstream — is now the market (according to the writer Viktor Nekrasov, all Zelenin was in this "rare ability to not dissolve in the surrounding world").

the Artist skillfully mastered the art of giving texture in painting. And if his early paintings are characterized by bright and juicy gamma, the work of the period of exile reflect a much more sombre attitude of the master. In the works of Zelenin speaks to the inner world of man (often with religious subjects), is in continuous search of forms and expression, using different techniques — oil, pastel, gouache, papier-маше.
