Exhibition of theatrical costumes from the Bakhrushin Museum opens in USA
From-за the current embargo on the exchange of exhibits between the U.S. and Russia, all original works from the Museum Bakhrushina replaced by copies
in Summer 2015 the exhibition "costume at the turn of the century. 1990 – 2015" was successfully held in the Theater Museum im. A. A. Bakhrushin, and now decided to show at the state University of North Carolina at Asheville. Opening the exhibition today (August 15) and will last until 28 September 2016.
In this project participated more than 260 designers representing 32 countries around the world. Their works reflect the development trends in design of costumes for dance, theatre, cinema, Opera, fashion and the performing arts over the past 25 years.
the project is managed by General Director, state Central theatre Museum im. A. A. Bakhrushin Dmitry Rodionov. Chief curator – Igor Rosanoff. Artist – Vasilina Ovchinnikova.
the Exhibition is held with the support of the world theatre community – OISTAT /international organization of scenographers, theatre architects and engineers, and the Institute of contemporary art /Kyiv, Ukraine/, of the theater Department of Carnegie Mellon, the University of Oregon and the University of North Carolina Asheville.
As described TASS the Director of the Museum of Bakhrushin Dmitry Rodionov, the exhibition will take place thanks to a good professional relationship with American institutions. And despite the existing arms embargo in connection with "the case of the Schneerson Library", the exhibition will be held. Just the originals from the Bakhrushin Museum will be replaced by copies. After the show in the U.S. the exhibition will travel to 2017 in Poland and China.
