The collection of Vladimir Ovcharenko in the MMSI on Gogol, 10
The exhibition is called "Soup and champagne," which according to the collector symbolizes "ball of confusion" Russia: whether West, whether East; or to capitalism, or to serfdom
In early April, the Moscow Museum of modern art (the building on Gogol Boulevard) will show an exhibition of selected works from the collection of gallery owner Vladimir Ovcharenko. In an exhibition entitled "Soup and Champagne" will include the work of Russian and foreign artists, including Leon Golub, Konstantin Zvezdochetov, Ilya Kabakov, Jonathan Mesa, Pavel Pepperstein, Jack Pierson, Richard Prince, Ivan Chuikov, Dana Schutz, Tracey Emin.
According to the exposition solution developed close associates of the collector — artist Sergiy Bratkov and the son of art collector gallery owner Mikhail Ovcharenko,— exhibition will be built in key slot, on the principle of dialogue between Russian and Western art to "bump heads" two worlds and reflect the Zeitgeist through the prism of personal opinion of the collector, without regard to nationality and place of birth of artists.
Why "soup and champagne"? Vladimir Ovcharenko answers this question: "Borscht and champagne — twins and brothers. So from time immemorial instituted in Russia. Here all the holidays and all "ball of confusion": whether West, whether East; or to capitalism, or to serfdom. So is this collection — is the flesh of his time, for Russia — rapid, transparent and not always fun, but opening before the new generation the door in a beautiful tomorrow. There will be all — and life without oil, and the computer brain, and immortality and, of course, the modern, new generation, art. And we will stay here, with his generation, and art, will love, study and display in museums. He will ensure immortality!"
