Picasso's granddaughter is selling a collection of works of his grandfather at Sotheby's

Pablo's Granddaughter Marina Picasso is selling the works of his grandfather from his personal collection. At auction Sotheby's on 5 February in London exhibited nearly 100 of Picasso's works on paper and 70 ceramic and terracotta sculptures. Marina Picasso inherited these things after the artist's death in 1973.
This is not the first sale of works from the collection of Marina Picasso. First, in January 2015, the granddaughter of Picasso announced his intention to sell privately 7 the works of his grandfather at a cost of about $290 million, as well as the Villa "La California" in Cannes. And in June 2015 the auction of Picasso ceramics from the collection of Marina, where all 126 lots were sold (the total result of £12.3 million).
the total estimate of the auction on 7 February, called "Alone with Picasso: works from the collection of Marina Picasso", is £6,9–9,8 million ($10.5 to 14.8 million). Lots of graphics covering the entire artistic career of Picasso, but the pottery dates from the late 1940-х — mid 1960-х.
the auction Catalogue is not yet published, but some of the top-лоты already known. For example, a jar of piquant painting — "Woman in robe is open" (1955) — is estimated at £35,000 ($52,500). A figure of 1962 "Visage de femme" valued at £180,000–250,000 ($269,000–373,000). Among the already published lots also includes an interesting picture of Pablo Picasso and architect Jacques Coele (Jacques Couеlle), which Picasso himself painted colors (evaluation lot £60,000).
"Nobody in my family has not escaped the stranglehold of this genius", — Marina wrote about his difficult relationship with his grandfather in his memoirs 2001. The decision to sell part of the collection edition of Page Six explained Marina's desire to "let go of the past".
