Irish Museum of modern art Irish Museum of Modern Art, IMMA, Dublin opened the exhibition "El Lissitzky: the artist and the state," timed to the approaching centennial of the Easter rising and the subsequent establishment of the Irish Republic. For the first time in Ireland presents such a large number of works Lazar Markovich Lissitzky (1890-1941), who worked under the pseudonym of El Lissitzky. Works provided by the van abbemuseum in Eindhoven (the Netherlands). Along with the work of Lissitzky exhibited archival materials related to the operation of the Irish poetess and freedom fighter Ireland Alice Milligan (1865-1953) and her fellow member, revolutionary, feminist and actress Maud Gunn (1866-1953). Complementing the exhibition of works by contemporary artists Rossella Biscotti, Nuria Guell, Sarah Pearce and Hito Steyerl@

the Exhibition aims to reflect how the cultural community has created the image and visualized politics of new States, whether the Soviet Union or the young Irish Republic. In a particular example of these two States examines the role of art in the formation of new political systems in the early twentieth century, when cultural activity was subdued primarily social objectives — consolidation of a new society. One of the leading avant-garde artists of the early twentieth century, El Lissitzky actively supported the October revolution. The creation of the Soviet Union for him was equivalent to a rupture with traditional restrictions. Through their work Lissitzky created collective aesthetics of the new world. The exhibition presents many important works, including works from the legendary series "Proun". In parallel with the works of Lissitzky presents archival materials of the poet Alice Milligan. Both pursued the same goals, albeit different means of expression. The position of the artist in modern society in an interesting contrast with this historical narrative reflect the work of contemporary khudozhnikov@
