memories From the artist: "my daughter went to the zoo regularly on Sundays. Chose what-нибудь one section. I did many sketches of parts of legs, heads, movements of animals, wrote color words, recalled Kipling, but our landscapes seemed no worse than the jungle. I always admired Playground of the young and awkward contrasts. Of course, I admired the polar bears on bear island. Wonderful pond in the Moscow zoo, there are floating dozens of local and migrant birds; and ducks and geese, and swans, and pelicans. The pelicans — fill and line. Mural begins with an elephant upstairs — a huge mass of a running elephant with raised trunk. Before him in the same violent motion shows little elephant with his trunk raised.
